Role Purpose
The BSS Developer Specialist shall report directly to the Business Support Systems (BSS) Manager, to analyze, design, plan, develop, configure, and Implement solutions in the BSS Stack. The Specialist shall also be responsible for managing the full life cycle development to customize and enhance BSS Applications including detailed design, configuration, documentation, testing, and deployment.
Work with Business Units, Revenue Assurance, Corporate Security, Finance, and other Technology departments to analyze, design, plan, develop, implement, and deliver end-to-end solutions across all Business Support Systems, Provisioning & Activation systems, Products, and Tariffs, Offers, Value Added Services, Vodafone Cash, Campaign management and related systems.
Job Responsibility
- Facilitate the process of cost and effort estimation of new features and applications for delivering new solutions
- Responsible for the end-to-end solutions design effort for complex solutions requirements in conjunction with the design authority, delivery management, and operational teams within the technology organization
- Write or contribute to design documents that are in line with the architectural guidelines
- Design and develop new functionalities to suit business requirements.
- Sales & Activation Domain & systems (CBU, EBU, FBU, Vodafone Cash
- Define application’s Architecture, in line with guidelines, and support the E2E Architecture
- Freelancer and Retail Systems
- Provisioning & Activation systems (SIM Reg)
- Execution of all the testing levels and acceptance tests
- Support Maintenance of applications & packages
- Application Maintenance (3rd level) supporting the IT Operations and Product Service Operations
- Software & E2E product quality delivery
Professional / Technical Skills
- Strong technological background, with Degree Qualification in Computer Science or Telecommunications.
- At least 5 years’ experience of supporting and developing Applications •Minimum 5 years’ experienced knowledge of end-to-end BSS and IT, fixed networks, and Value-Added Services or related field of telecommunications.
- Experience in network and architecture design, systems integration and quality assurance testing
- Solid technological background, with qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent.
- Must have Application Support experience and strong problem solving abilities.
- Must possess strong Experience in delivering application solutions based on agreed user requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of client/server architecture in on-premises, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS Architectures;
- Technical hands-on experience in coding and providing technical design architecture for one or more of the following technologies:
a)Net programming with C# and/or VB.Net
b)CSS/JavaScript/HTML5 frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, etc)
c)Relational databases Oracle MSQL and SQL Server
d)Working knowledge of XML, XQuery, and SQL IT Certifications
